The Accord is by all measures, an extremely safe car. Both active and passive enhanced protection systems right from the build of the car, plus features like six airbags, VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist, ABS (Anti-lock Breaking System), EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) and a G-CON body have helped to achieve a standard of safety that's commendable.
Safety of passengers and pedestrians is a top priority for Honda.
Honda's original G-CON technology reduces the impact in the event of a car crash. Impact absorbing zones created with engineering expertise distribute G-force through the body structure. It also features pedestrian safety. In the event of the person coming in front of the car, it controls G-force transferred from the car to the person and helps reduce injuries.
Intelligent Six AirbagsThe Accord comes with six airbags - which protect from side impacts as well. In the event of frontal impact, the dual-stage, dual-threshold front airbags (i-SRS) inflate at different rates depending upon crash severity. The side airbags with OPDS (Occupants Position Detection System) inflate to protect the driver and the front passenger's upper body in the event of side impact.
The Accord comes with the VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) technology, which during an understeer or oversteer condition, brakes individual wheel and reduces engine power to help restore the intended course.
Front 3 point seat belts with automatic tensioning system ride across the lap and chest to help restrain occupants during sudden stops or impact.
All Accord models feature 4-wheel disc brakes with Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Brake Assist. Also standard is Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD), helping braking performance by distributing brake force among the four wheels based on the load each wheel is bearing.

Front active headrests help mitigate neck shock in a rear-end collision. A link mechanism in the seat moves the headrest forward and upward to support the passenger's head.
